Death Alone
A march of one
not knowing when
the heart takes
last shot and shock
lone to the loss of all swarms
your universal love impersonal
in the end no special serenade
the quiet of few words and no-one
the fair weather chit chat
farewells unable to warm
while alive - the normal
white surface of not much
there's no more going on
so better the world dies
as it does - bustling with
biology to so many last breaths
I can't say it's better to have
survived. It brought knowledge
of thin bond and strings
because all others couldn't be there
for you walked and wandered
with your conversing shadow
once weighted on underworld scales
words on unwitnessed transcript
the book of the dead
broken codes of impossible
alterity all downward whole
til no direction, no felt field.
