The proximity of poetics can be fatal - metaphors that become literal, become part of literal language. To me the bS in that is that literal language is coarsing with poetic blood.

The proximity of similes is not fatal but an erotic shore - an off the cuff example

"the hessian rope was asphyxiating me, like hessian rope" - so, being an enthusiast of poetics as opposed to a student - I would term this a veri-simile - a simile that is "identical". The more-beautifulness of the written copy of Don Quixote that Borges wrote about.

May the Canon scream as I walk amongst the dead bodies, slaying all that is decent and to be conserved.
